FILIPINO CUISINE

Filipino Cuisine is composed of the cuisines of 144 distinct ethno-linguistic groups found within the Philippine archipelago, however, majority of mainstream Filipino dishes that compose Filipino cuisine are from the cuisines of the Bikol, Chabakano, Hiligaynon, Ilokano, Kapampangan, Maranaw, Pangasinan, Cebuano (or Bisaya), Tagalog, and Waray ethno-linguistic tribes. The style of cooking and the food associated with it have evolved over many centuries shared with Malaysian and Indonesian cuisines to a mixed cuisine of Indian, Arab, Chinese, Spanish, and American influences, in line with the major waves of influence that had enriched the cultures of the archipelago, as well as others adapted to indigenous ingredients and the local palate.

Manobo Tribe served some authentic Filipino cuisine with shrimp, fish and chicken as the main ingredients cooked in bamboo tubes.

WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL & MOST AMAZING TREE - THE RAINBOW TREE (Originated From The Philippines)

The rainbow eucalyptus hails from Mindanao, an island in the southern part of the Philippines. Eucalyptus Deglupta is a tall tree, commonly known as the rainbow eucalyptus, Mindanao gum, or rainbow gum. It is known locally as 'Bagras'. It is the only eucalyptus tree native to the northern hemisphere. Rainbow trees can be found all over the Philippines.

It is now grown and cultivated in New Guinea, New Britain, Seram, Sulawesi. It thrives in Tropical Forests that get a lot of rain.

The unique multi-hued bark is the most distinctive feature of the tree. Patches of outer bark are shed annually at different times, showing a bright green inner bark. This then darkens and matures to give blue, purple, orange and then maroon tones. The previous season’s bark peels off in strips to reveal a brightly colored new bark below. The peeling process results in vertical streaks of red, orange, green, blue, and gray.

Eucalyptus Deglupta grows up to 2 m (6 ft) wide and over 60 m (200 ft) tall. The colours of the bark are not as intense outside the tree's native range.

In the present day this tree is grown widely around the world in tree plantations, mainly for pulpwood used in making white paper. It is the dominant species used for pulpwood plantations in the Philippines.

Eucalyptus Tree is a healing tree, the oil essences are used for Therapeutic purposes, in making soap, candles and other similar products. Traditionally, they have many uses in folk medicine. The aromatic eucalyptus leaves are antiseptic, and were used for wounds and in teas to treat asthma and coughs. Eucalyptus oil is used as an ingredient to make Vicks VapoRub. Mosquitoes are believed to be repelled by the scent of the tree. It is also cultivated as an ornamental tree for planting in tropical and subtropical gardens and parks. It is not resistant to frosts. The showy multi-coloured streaks that cover the trunk are a distinctive landscape design element.

In the U.S., rainbow eucalyptus grows in the frost-free climates found in Hawaii and the southern portions of California, Texas and Florida. It is suitable for U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 10 and higher. In the continental U.S., the tree only grows to heights of 100 to 125 feet. Although this is only about half the height it can reach in its native range, it is still a massive tree.
